Day 0 - we flew to Orlando on Friday. We stayed in the airport Hyatt. Our flight
took off from Des Moines at 5:45 am. We arrived in Orlando at 10:46 EDT.
We spent several hours at MGM at Disney World with Towncrier (from the DIS
Board).
Day 1 (Sat 8/4/2001) - we got up in time to meet the
first Disney Cruise Line shuttle at 10:30 am. We took the bus to Port Canaveral
where we boarded the Disney
Magic at 12:30. We had the same two rooms that we had last year. The ship departed at 5:00 p.m.
Day 2 (Sun 8/5/2001) - Day at sea. Swimming, tanning,
relaxing. Watched and recorded Hercules - the Muse-ical.
Day 3 (Mon 8/6/2001) - Day at sea. Swimming,
tanning, relaxing.
Day 4 (Tue 8/7/2001) - spent the day in port at St. Maarten, Virgin
Islands. Beach time - we rented jet skis and had a great time. Arrived at 7:00 a.m. and departed at 11:00 p.m.
Day 5 (Wed 8/8/2001) - spent the day in port at St. Thomas,
U.S. Virgin Islands. We went to Charlotte Amalie in the morning.
In the afternoon, we rode the tram up the mountain, enjoyed the scenery and
watched a great bird show. Arrived at 6:30 a.m. and departed at 4:45 p.m.
Day 6 (Thu 8/9/2001) - Day at sea. Swimming, tanning,
relaxing. Watched and recorded Disney Dreams.
Day 7 (Fri 8/10/2001) - Spend the day in port at Disney's Castaway Cay in
the Bahamas. Arrived at 9:00 a.m. and departed at 5:00 p.m.
Day 8 (Sat 8/11/2001) - Get up early and get off the ship. Ship
arrives at Port Canaveral at 6:00 a.m. We will
arrived back in Des Moines at 3:35p.m. We then watched the Magic leave
port via a web cam.
